Dr Hilary Fewins - Head of training, 2000-2008
Dr. Hilary Fewins has been the Head of Training for 8 years. After the 2008 Mersey School of Radiology research day, a dinner was held in the Liverpool Medical Institute in her honour. There was a fantastic turn out of both registrars and consultants alike(many of whom had been trained under Dr. Fewins.
There was much of reminising by all present, both senior and junior sharing fond memories of the time that Hilary had spent with them as a "mother" figure at the helm of the Mersey School of Radiology. Some painting a picture of how they remember waiting for results of the FRCR 2B exam to come over by fax, while Hilary dished out muffins!
There was more serious retrospective analysis done on her passion for teaching. She has developed the Radiology scheme dramatically over the past 8 years, with the number of graduates increasing form 20 to 54 during her time as Head of Training.
She has passed over the position to Dr. John Curtis
